iPhone Audio Sequencer Prototype

A basic sample sequencer for the iPhone. 9 different sounds, 16 divisions to the bar. There's also real-time DSP effects: filter, delay, pitch control. And a channel mixer, so you can control the volume of each sample.

Built with openFrameworks and ofxiPhone.

Currently only goes up to 22050kHz/Mono, but I'm working on it.

My Second Life

The fruits of my labour

For the past couple of days, I've been in Second Life creating the 3D models for a game called Cabinet of Curiosities. I feel a bit embarrassed to tell people that, but it beats programming. That's not fair. It's a welcome change from programming, although frustrating sometimes.

I went for a sort of interview at a place called Vivid Image today to see if I could get some extra work doing websites. Looking good. The office was beautiful, and they had some weird old bass guitar there.

Burger Buddies

http://burgerbuddies.tk/ - I hand out flyers to people eating burgers by themselves in burger places, which directs them to the site where they can post their woes.

This project was a sort of exorcism. The thought of eating a burger by oneself is so depressing. I used to have the same feeling about fat people and cake. Or people eating themselves to death. I guess it's an innocent version of overdose (innocent meaning a kid could understand it - or do(!) it).

Also, it was a grand total of 3 hours to do the project, so it's nice to get something done and finished that quickly.

The Cherry Popper

Hello, I started this blog to keep track of what I do in my work instead of brushing over it lightly in my personal blog.

So, what goes here? Work projects, self-started projects, money projects, free projects.

So, what am I working on? This week I've actually avoided doing any paid work whatsoever, but have been working on 3 of my own, and 2 of Evan's.

1. Burger Buddies - a stupid social activism project (see next post)
2. Re:voice mk2 - beatbox into a microphone and hear it play it on a real drumkit in real-time
3. Capture - the democratic sampler.

The seeper projects are top secret for now.

Last Will

A "Multiplatform Interactive Theatrical Experience"

I worked along side Hewlett Packard Labs, Seeper Ltd and Punchdrunk theatre production company to develop a prototype for a “Mulitplatform Immersive Theatrical Experience”. This involved creating a virtual experience which mirrors the physical manifestation of the play. One member of the audience experiences the physical version and another the virtual version. At different points they can interact with eachother.
